Rathmines skatepark is a concrete street focused park with a nice variety of obstacles, built by Convic skateparks. The Rathmines Youth Hub is situated within the historic, heritage-listed RAAF flying boat base, established in 1939. Once the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere during World War II, the site holds significant cultural value. The Youth Hub’s design is guided by a cultural management plan, ensuring it respects key sightlines to heritage buildings and incorporates themes that connect with the site's rich aviation history. Now complete, the Youth Hub breathes new life into the Rathmines Park precinct, transforming it into a destination-level recreational space. It features a 1,000 sqm skate park, a dynamic pump track, a basketball court, event spaces, passive recreation zones, designated parking, and thoughtfully integrated landscaping that complements the broader open space.
