The Saratoga Springs Skatepark, located at 226 Lake Avenue in Saratoga Springs, New York, holds the distinction of being the state's oldest municipal skatepark, originally established in 1989. Over the decades, it has served as a pivotal hub for the local skateboarding community. Recognizing the need for modernization, the skatepark underwent significant renovations in 2023 to better serve contemporary skaters. The project was a collaborative effort involving the City of Saratoga Springs, the Department of Public Works, and the nonprofit organization OnDeck Saratoga. OnDeck Saratoga, founded in 2012 by skateboarder Benj Gleeksman and his wife Belinda Colón, played a crucial role in promoting skateboarding and advocating for the park's redevelopment. The redesign features a fully concrete structure, offering a smoother and more durable surface for skaters. The updated park includes various elements catering to all skill levels, such as an improved bowl, a new halfpipe, and multiple banks, ledges, and rails.
