The Skatepark de Châtellerault, located at 3 Rue Clément Krebs, 86100 Châtellerault, France, is a modern facility dedicated to skateboarding and other wheeled sports. Situated at the entrance of the historic Manufacture d'Armes, an area undergoing significant redevelopment, the skatepark occupies the site of a former modular skatepark.
Snake Run Bowl: Due to spatial constraints between the Vienne River and the Auto Moto Vélo Museum, the bowl is designed in an elongated snake run configuration, offering a dynamic riding experience. Street Area: The street section features a patterned concrete surface with slabs measuring 1.00m x 0.50m in three shades of gray, harmonizing with the museum's weathered stone facade. Industrial Aesthetics: Incorporating corten steel elements, the design pays homage to the site's industrial heritage, with the former entrance arch of the Manufacture d'Armes repositioned at the skatepark's entrance to highlight local architectural heritage.
The skatepark was designed by Constructo, a French firm specializing in skatepark architecture. Covering an area of 1,800 square meters, the project was completed in May 2017 at a cost of €565,000 (excluding taxes).
