Smallenburg Skatepark, located in Holland, Michigan, is a 10,000-square-foot concrete skate facility built in 2011. The skatepark was designed and constructed by SpohnRanch, a leading company known for its expertise in skatepark development. The design of Smallenburg Skatepark is plaza-style, integrating a variety of street elements like quarter pipes, manual pads, stairs, handrails, ledges, banks, and hubbas. The park's layout offers a smooth and accessible flow, accommodating both beginner and advanced skaters.
Smallenburg Skatepark is part of Smallenburg Park, which includes other amenities like sports fields, walking paths, and picnic areas, making it a central recreational hub in the community. The development of the skatepark was part of a broader initiative by the City of Holland to enhance local public spaces, providing a safe and engaging area for skateboarding and other action sports. It shares the park with facilities for tennis, soccer, baseball, and track activities, contributing to the park's popularity among locals and visitors alike.
The skatepark is free to the public, with operating hours from 8 AM to 11 PM daily. It features a unique design inspired by the shape of a "peanut," with various obstacles centered around an elevated platform that serves as the focal point for skate activities. This setup encourages both technical tricks and flow-based skating, making it a favorite among the skating community.
