South Eveleigh Skatepark, located in Sydney's Eveleigh district, was designed and built by Convic. This skatepark was conceived as an urban street plaza and reflects the industrial heritage of the area, particularly the historic locomotive workshops that once occupied the space. Key design elements include custom brick transitions, industrial steel features, and granite ledges, blending modern skatepark design with the site's historical roots.
The park is part of the larger South Eveleigh Youth Space, which includes various facilities aimed at fostering youth engagement in recreation. The design was funded as part of a commercial and retail development overseen by Mirvac in collaboration with the City of Sydney, with input from the local skateboarding community.
Completed in 2020, the project received the prestigious National AILA Award for urban design due to its innovative approach to integrating skateboarding and public space. It provides a multi-functional space catering to skaters of all levels.
