St Newlyn East Skatepark, located in Cornwall, was designed and built by Maverick Skateparks and officially opened in October 2015. The park was developed as a community-driven project led by the local youth group TR8SK8, who played a key role in the design process by working closely with Maverick's team. The project focused on creating a modern concrete park that caters to skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter users.
The skatepark features a range of obstacles, including a mini ramp, quarter pipe, spine, open bowl, and roll-in, designed to challenge skaters of all levels. The concrete structure ensures longevity and requires minimal maintenance, making it a valuable asset for the local community.
The project received substantial local support and funding, with the community actively participating in consultations and fundraising efforts. The park's construction marked a significant improvement over the previous skate facility, offering a safe and engaging space for young people to enjoy wheeled sports. Today, St Newlyn East Skatepark continues to be a hub for social interaction and physical activity, reflecting the successful collaboration between the community and Maverick Skateparks.
The facility is located off Neeham Road in St Newlyn East and remains a popular destination for skaters in the region.
