Sul Ross skatepark

SPA Skateparks is proud to have served as the skatepark construction contractor for the Sul Ross Skatepark in Waco, Texas. In collaboration with a well-respected local general contractor, SPA's role included earthwork shaping, custom metal fabrication, and the construction of every inch of poured-in-place concrete skate terrain.

Part of the larger Sul Ross Park Renovation Project, the upgraded park now features a new shade pavilion, walking trails, renovated tennis courts, open play fields, a modern playscape, expanded parking, and a range of other amenities. To bring the full vision to life, the City of Waco acquired adjacent property, allowing for a more expansive and community-focused space. Located just five minutes from Interstate 35, Sul Ross Park is an ideal rest stop or session spot for travelers moving between Austin and the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

The transformation of the skatepark is significant. Once consisting of aging prefabricated metal ramps, the original facility had become outdated and no longer met the needs of the local skate community. Although SPA Skateparks was not the original designer, we were honored to be selected by the City of Waco to bring the project to life as the specialty skatepark builder, delivering a high-quality, durable facility that now stands as a central feature of the newly revitalized park.

Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.
