The Taylor Skatepark, located at Pierce Park in Taylor, Texas, opened in December 2017. The skatepark was funded through a grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation and Certificates of Obligation bonds. The land for the park was donated by Chisum Pierce in honor of his father, Lieutenant Commander Thomas Floyd Pierce. Additional funding was raised through Project LOOP’s 50/50 initiative, which contributed significantly to the park's development.
The park is a concrete facility designed to cater to a wide range of skaters with various features such as ramps, bowls, and street elements. It's a popular spot for skaters in the community, offering a well-rounded environment for beginners and advanced skaters alike. The skatepark is open from 8 AM to 8 PM during standard time and extends to 9 PM during daylight savings.
