Twyford Skatepark, located in the King George V Recreation Ground in Twyford, Berkshire, was originally constructed nearly two decades ago. Over time, the facility became outdated, requiring frequent repairs and no longer meeting the diverse needs of the community.
Recognizing the importance of providing a modern, inclusive space for skateboarding, BMX riding, and scootering, the Twyford Parish Council initiated a project to replace the existing skatepark with a contemporary concrete facility. In collaboration with a group of enthusiastic parents, skaters, BMX riders, and scooter users, the Council launched a fundraising campaign aiming to raise over £200,000 for the new skatepark. The project garnered significant community support, with various fundraising initiatives and events contributing to the cause.
The Parish Council engaged Maverick Industries, a company renowned for designing and constructing high-quality skateparks, to bring the new facility to fruition. The skatepark opened in 2025.
