The Veltwijckpark skatepark in Ekeren, Belgium, is a well-designed skate facility located within the green expanse of Veltwijckpark, offering skaters a variety of features amidst a scenic environment. The skatepark was designed and built by Concrete Skateparks Belgium, known for its durable and functional skatepark constructions. It features various elements such as hubbas, a jump box, quarterpipes, funboxes, handrails, flatrails, and banks, providing ample opportunities for different skateboarding styles.
Opened in recent years, the skatepark received significant funding from the City of Antwerp as part of an initiative to enhance public recreational spaces. It caters not only to skaters but also to BMX riders and inline skaters, making it a versatile spot for the local community.
In 2022, the park underwent a makeover led by the Treepack art collective. The collective collaborated with local skaters and residents to redesign and brighten up the park with graffiti and vibrant art, giving it a fresh and modern aesthetic. This update was part of a broader effort to keep the park visually engaging and appealing to both skaters and visitors.
The Veltwijckpark skatepark continues to be a popular destination, appreciated for its thoughtful design and integration within the larger park, which includes nature trails and a historic castle nearby.
