The Halle de Skate in Villiers-sur-Orge, France, is a premier facility dedicated to urban gliding sports, including skateboarding, rollerblading, and BMX. Managed by the Cœur d’Essonne Agglomération, it comprises both indoor and outdoor areas to accommodate various skill levels. Indoor Area: Spanning 850 m², the indoor street area is refreshed annually to align with evolving practices. Constructed with wooden structures, it features elements like walls, tables, pyramids, and quarter pipes. Outdoor Area: The 700 m² outdoor street area, designed by Constructo Skatepark Architecture in 2013, offers a variety of obstacles suitable for different skill levels.
The facility is open to skateboarders, rollerbladers, and BMX riders (BMX access is limited to Thursdays, with pegs prohibited and helmets mandatory). Notably, scooters are not permitted. Hours vary between school terms and holidays, with specific sessions designated for different age groups and activities. The facility hosts events throughout the year, including competitions and themed sessions. An on-site team, comprising a manager, a certified sports educator, and support staff, ensures a safe and welcoming environment.
