The Volcom Brothers Skatepark in Mammoth Lakes, California, opened in 2006 and was designed by Grindline Skateparks, a well-known firm specializing in skatepark construction. Spanning 40,000 square feet, it is one of the largest skateparks in the region and a year-round destination for skateboarders, particularly those who want to stay active when the local snowboarding slopes are closed. This concrete park features three main bowls, including a large over-vert capsule, smaller deep bowls, and various street obstacles such as quarter pipes, ledges, rails, and pyramid boxes.
The skatepark is part of Trails End Park and was built in memory of Jeff Anderson, a professional snowboarder and Mammoth local, with support from his family and the Volcom brand. It was funded through a combination of donations from the Volcom company and community fundraising efforts, making it a heartfelt community project. The design also incorporates natural features, such as boulders and tree cover, making it a unique blend of skateboarding terrain and the natural beauty of the surrounding Mammoth Lakes area.
The park is free to use and open from May to November, closing in the winter months due to snow. It is a highly versatile park, catering to skaters of all skill levels with areas for both beginners and advanced skaters. Over the years, it has become a popular spot not only for locals but also for visitors from surrounding areas looking to enjoy the scenic setting and high-quality skating facilities.
