Walker Mill Skatepark, located in Capitol Heights, Maryland, is a 12,000-square-foot outdoor concrete skatepark that opened in 2015. The park was designed and built by SpohnRanch, a well-known skatepark construction company. The skatepark was funded and developed in collaboration with the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation. Its design blends street and transition elements, making it suitable for skaters of all levels.
Walker Mill features a flow bowl, quarterpipes, spines, and a variety of street-style elements, such as stairs, hubbas, handrails, ledges, and banks. The park’s layout is unique, offering both an inner circle with snake-like ramps and transition sections, as well as an outer circle that includes street features like stair sets and rails. This layout allows skaters to maintain continuous movement through the park, making it dynamic and engaging for both transition and street skaters.
The park's construction is part of the larger 500-acre Walker Mill Regional Park, which also includes amenities such as sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, and playgrounds. Since its opening, Walker Mill Skatepark has become a popular destination for skaters in the region, known for its creative design and variety of obstacles.
