Wheaton Skatepark, located in Wheaton, Illinois, was originally built with wood ramps but underwent a significant renovation in 2018. SpohnRanch Skateparks was hired by the Wheaton Park District to redesign the skatepark, transforming it into an 11,000-square-foot concrete facility. The renovation replaced the aging wooden ramps while preserving the existing concrete slab. The upgrades included various street-style features, such as a 5-foot mini-ramp, a mellow A-frame, grind rails, a kicker, ledges, and a manual pad, enhancing flow and skater enjoyment.
The redesign focused on providing a more durable and aesthetically pleasing park for skaters of all skill levels. Funding for this project came from the local government, as part of broader efforts to improve community recreational facilities. Today, Wheaton Skatepark is a popular destination, offering well-balanced elements for both beginners and advanced skateboarders. It is located at S. Naperville Rd & E. Liberty Dr., next to the Clocktower Commons.
