The Yorkton Skate Plaza, located in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, is a powerful symbol of community resilience. Developed after the town was devastated by a major flash flood in 2010, the project was made possible by a mobilized local advocacy group that secured a $100,000 Aviva grant, alongside a supportive municipal administration. This innovative facility was designed and constructed by New Line Skateparks.
Serving as the gateway to the new Brodie Avenue multi-use corridor, the park features a seamless blend of technical street plaza elements and a high-performance flow bowl. The design was engineered to provide a multi-generational recreation space that anchors the surrounding area's redevelopment. By combining modern skate architecture with a mission to revitalize the community, the Yorkton Skate Plaza has become a central hub for youth and families across the region.
