Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

The Amherst Skatepark, located at 185 Church Street in Amherst, Nova Scotia, is a 10,000-square-foot concrete facility that serves as a central recreational hub for the Cumberland County region. This park was designed and built by New Line Skateparks in 2017, replacing an outdated modular park with a modern, high-performance landscape. The project was the result of a strong community push to provide local youth with a durable, world-class space that could accommodate skateboards, BMX bikes, and scooters.
The design is a "modern-plaza" hybrid that emphasizes clean lines and accessibility. It features a technical street section with granite-capped hubba ledges, flat rails, and a variety of stair sets, all arranged to allow for a natural progression of tricks. To complement the street terrain, the park includes a versatile flow bowl with rhythmic hips and quarter pipes that act as return walls, allowing riders to maintain their speed and loop through the park without stopping. The layout is intentionally open-concept, ensuring clear sightlines and a safe, inclusive environment for riders of all skill levels.
Constructed with high-strength, smooth-troweled concrete, the Amherst Skatepark was engineered to withstand the Atlantic region's significant freeze-thaw cycles and coastal humidity. The facility is integrated into the larger Robb Centennial Park complex, featuring professional-grade lighting for evening use and significant perimeter seating for spectators. By focusing on high-quality finishes and an intuitive flow, the design-build team created a space that has become a source of community pride, fostering a vibrant local action sports scene in the heart of Amherst.
