The Awanui Pumptrack, located at the junction of State Highways 1 and 10 in Awanui, New Zealand, is a premier facility for biking, scootering, and skateboarding enthusiasts. Constructed by Velosolutions, a renowned company specializing in pumptrack design, the track covers an area of 750 square meters and features seven curves, including a double turn, offering riders a dynamic and engaging experience. The track officially opened on December 17, 2022, with a ceremony that included a blessing by Aunty Fran Hokianga.
The pumptrack is part of the Te Hiku Open Spaces Revitalisation Project, a community-led initiative funded by Kānoa – the government's Regional Economic Development & Investment Unit, with support from the Far North District Council and Te Hiku Community Board. This project aims to enhance public spaces in the Te Hiku region, promoting healthy and engaging activities for residents and visitors.
