In 2024, the commune of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, located in the Gard department of southern France, inaugurated a state-of-the-art pumptrack facility to enhance local recreational infrastructure and provide residents with a dedicated space for various wheeled sports.
The pumptrack was designed and constructed by E2S Company, a firm specializing in the development of skateparks, bike parks, and pumptracks. The facility features two asphalted circuits, each approximately 140 meters in length, designed in a mirrored layout: Blue Track: Ideal for beginners and warm-ups, this circuit offers a gentle cadence of bumps and comfortable turns, allowing users to navigate the loop with ease. Red Track: A more advanced course with a symmetrical design, providing a complementary morphology to the blue track, enabling users to progress and enhance their skills. An innovative feature of the pumptrack is the integration of a prefabricated concrete module—a "rainbow" element—intended to add an extra challenge and enjoyment for riders.
Strategically situated in the Bourdilhan area, the pumptrack complements existing sports and leisure amenities within the commune. The facility is accessible to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The total cost of the pumptrack project was €191,000. The commune received a subsidy covering 30% of the project cost from the State, specifically through the Dotation de soutien à l'investissement local (DSIL). The remaining funds were allocated from the municipal budget, reflecting the local government's commitment to enhancing recreational facilities and promoting active lifestyles among its residents.
