ABOUT SKATEPARK

Blacksmith Fork skatepark

Blacksmith Fork skatepark, aka Hyrum skatepark, is a large concrete park made up of a nice mix of transition and street obstacles. he layout of this park is designed for all-around flow, while still offering plenty of tucked-away zones perfect for solo sessions. If you break it down from the Blacksmith Fork Canyon side heading toward the valley, you’ll find distinct sections: the amoeba bowl and rockscape, a hybrid flow track with a 3.5-foot mini, a high street line with a kinked rail, a main street-style plaza, a ditch zone, a Barcelona-inspired multi-feature area, and the ledge land entry.

The amoeba bowl is a standout centerpiece, with pocket depths of 8.5', 6', and 4', built for speed. It features classic pool coping and a custom tile band designed by Hunger’s own Christy Weezer. The design was inspired by the most popular grip tape sold at local shop Directive — a nod to the region’s dairy and cattle industry, which played a big role in funding the park. Christy leaned into the symbolism, creating a pattern that mirrors both livestock markings and the organic curves of skate bowls. The result? A black, white, and blue mosaic that not only pops visually but flows beautifully with the movement of the bowl.

The flow bowl/track area is hard to define — a true Frankenstein of design, blending a pump track, jump lines, mini ramp bowl elements, and straight wall features. It can be shredded in one continuous loop or hit piece-by-piece depending on your vibe. Skaters, BMXers, and even scooter riders have all claimed their lines here. Originally envisioned as a beginner-friendly space, this section evolved into something much more thanks to Bart Smith’s keen eye and creative vision during the build.

The street section kicks off with a high line featuring a kinked rail, A-frame ledge, down rail, and a two-tiered return quarter. The main plaza delivers all the heavy hitters: a big pyramid hip, stacked hubbas, the signature Directive volcano, pole jam, up/down curb, down rail, pump bump, kicker, fire hydrant, euro gaps, and ledge/box setups. Both ends of the street zone feature unique, multi-level quarterpipes — including the "throne" pool pocket, complete with a custom cow spot stamp that ties it all back to the local community. This park is a mashup of creativity, function, and local pride — and it rips just as hard as it looks. The skatepark was designed and built by Hunger skateparks.
