The Cle Elum Skatepark, located in Cle Elum, Washington, is undergoing an exciting revitalization. The project began with Phase 1, which was completed in time for the 4th of July 2022. Designed and constructed by Grindline Skateparks, the new facility replaces the older skatepark with a state-of-the-art concrete park, aimed at serving skaters of all skill levels. Phase 2 of the project is currently in the fundraising stage and will expand the park's features, adding additional skateable space and more advanced elements.
The skatepark has become a community hub, frequently hosting events such as skate jams, fundraisers, and even a demolition day in 2023 to mark the end of the old park and the beginning of the new one. The local Rotary Club and the Cle Elum Skatepark Committee are driving forces behind the project, with the park designed to be a space where community members of all ages can gather and enjoy skateboarding.
For those interested, the park also offers educational opportunities, such as the Concrete Experience Internship, which teaches participants about concrete construction and skatepark design.
