Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

The Cold Lake Skatepark, situated at 7825 51 Street within the Imperial Park recreational complex, is a 10,000-square-foot facility that serves as a primary athletic hub for the Lakeland region. This project was designed and built by New Line Skateparks in 2014, replacing a smaller, outdated park with a modern concrete landscape. The development was part of the city’s broader initiative to enhance youth amenities and provide a durable, world-class space capable of withstanding the challenging climate of Northern Alberta.
The design is a sophisticated "all-wheel" flow-plaza, engineered to provide a balance of transition and technical street terrain. It features a versatile flow bowl with rhythmic hips and quarter pipes that wrap around the perimeter, acting as return walls to help riders maintain speed. The street section is meticulously detailed, offering granite-capped hubba ledges, flat rails, a central "A-frame" pyramid, and a variety of stair sets. The layout is intentionally open, allowing for clear sightlines and multiple entry points into the features, which helps manage traffic during peak hours.
Constructed with high-strength, smooth-troweled concrete, the facility was built to endure the extreme freeze-thaw cycles and heavy snow loads typical of the Cold Lake area. The design also emphasizes community space, featuring wide concrete aprons for spectators and integrated seating blocks that double as low-profile skateable ledges. Its location within Imperial Park places it adjacent to the Energy Centre and local athletic fields, making it a highly accessible social destination for families. Today, the Cold Lake Skatepark is celebrated for its technical versatility and its role in fostering a safe, active, and inclusive community for local youth and visiting riders.
