The Dickies Skate Plaza is complete and open to the public. The City of Fort Worth’s skatepark grand opening event was held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 . SPA Skateparks was selected as the skatepark contractor for the Dickies Skate Plaza and concrete pump track, located in Fire Station Park—right in the heart of Fort Worth’s historic Southside district. The project was born from the grassroots efforts of the local skateboarding community, with major support from Magnolia Skateshop, whose advocacy and fundraising efforts generated $80,000 to kickstart the initiative. At the same time, Near Southside, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the vitality of the district, stepped in to help move the project forward. Their leadership helped secure a $300,000 contribution from the VF Foundation—the charitable arm of VF Corporation, parent company of several major brands, including Dickies. With the remaining funding provided by the City of Fort Worth, the vision became a reality: a vibrant and uniquely designed skate plaza and concrete pump track for the community. Today, we welcome you to the Dickies Skate Plaza at Fire Station Park—a one-of-a-kind public space that reflects the passion, partnership, and history of the Fort Worth skate scene.
