The Hardin Skatepark in Hardin, Montana, officially opened in October 2022. This skatepark was a collaborative effort funded primarily through Jeff Ament's Montana Pool Service, alongside contributions from the City of Hardin, One Health, and the Youth Empowerment Support Coalition. Additional support came from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. The design and construction of the park were led by Evergreen Skateparks, a company known for their world-class skatepark projects in rural and native communities.
The Hardin Skatepark was part of a broader initiative by Jeff Ament, the bassist for Pearl Jam, to build skateparks in underserved areas, particularly within Native American communities. The park provides a safe, recreational space for the local youth to engage in skateboarding, BMX, and other activities, fostering community ties and offering a venue for young people to build friendships and life skills.
While there is no record of large-scale national events hosted at the skatepark, it has already become a central community hub, providing a space for local events and gatherings.
