Hove Beach Plaza Skatepark, part of the larger Hove Beach Park redevelopment, was completed in 2024 as a state-of-the-art wheeled sports facility located near Hove Lagoon on the seafront. The project was developed by Brighton & Hove City Council and built by Morgan Sindall Construction, with design contributions from Maverick Industries for the skatepark and Velosolutions for the BMX pump track. The skatepark features a range of street elements such as flatbanks, ledges, hubbas, and a mini-ramp extension, catering to all skill levels. Additionally, a 150-meter BMX pump track and a 600-square-meter roller area were included in the design to provide a comprehensive wheeled sports zone.
The £13.7 million development was part of the Kingsway to the Sea project, funded by a mix of local council resources and government support. This initiative aimed to revitalize the underused green spaces along the seafront, incorporating sustainable design elements such as lighting with motion sensors and biodiversity-enhancing landscaping.
The new skatepark replaces the older facility at Hove Lagoon, which was closed as part of the redevelopment. The new design provides a modern, accessible space for the local skating and BMX community, with regular events and competitions planned to bring enthusiasts together.
