In July 2024, the commune of Limerzel, located in the Morbihan department of Brittany, France, unveiled a new pumptrack at the Brespan sports complex. This initiative aimed to enhance recreational facilities for residents, particularly the youth, by providing a dedicated space for various wheeled sports.
The pumptrack was designed by Urban Sport Engineering (USE), a company based in Questembert specializing in the development of sports infrastructure. The construction was executed by Eurovia, a firm known for its expertise in building such facilities. The track features a series of asphalt bumps and banked turns, accommodating activities like cycling, rollerblading, skateboarding, and scootering.
The project received financial support from multiple partners, including the Brittany Region, which contributed to the funding. The municipality of Limerzel managed the project's budget to ensure its feasibility within the community's financial resources. Mayor Serge Lubert expressed satisfaction with the project's alignment to the budget, highlighting the importance of providing accessible recreational facilities in rural areas to foster social connections and promote physical activity.
