The Harvey Skatepark at Meriden Park is a newly constructed facility in Harvey, Western Australia, designed to cater to skaters of all abilities. The project was built by Convic skateparks, a leading skatepark design and construction firm. The skatepark includes a variety of features, such as a pump track, various skate elements, and park furniture, making it a versatile space for skateboarding, BMX, and scooters.
The park was fully funded by the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, with a total budget of $995,000. Planning and community consultation began in 2021, and construction officially started in October 2023, with completion expected by early 2024. The design was developed with significant community input, ensuring it meets the needs of local skaters and providing zones for both beginners and advanced users.
The skatepark will also serve as a venue for small events and competitions, further enhancing Harvey’s recreational offerings for its youth and families.
