The Muri Pumptrack, located within the Sportanlage Bachmatten in Muri, Switzerland, is a state-of-the-art facility designed for enthusiasts of wheeled sports such as biking, skateboarding, and rollerblading. Adjacent to the existing skatepark, the pumptrack offers a dynamic environment for users of varying skill levels.
The pumptrack spans approximately 1,500 square meters and features a well-designed, undulating course that caters to both beginners and advanced riders. The project was led by Chris Räber, a professional biker from Muri renowned for his expertise in constructing pumptracks and bike parks. His involvement ensured that the facility met high standards of quality and functionality.
Construction of the pumptrack commenced in early 2024, with the official inauguration taking place on October 19, 2024. The opening ceremony was a significant event, attracting over 400 visitors who participated in various activities and enjoyed the new facility.
The development of the pumptrack was primarily funded by a generous contribution of 350,000 Swiss Francs from the Genossenschaft Kabelfernsehanlage Muri (GKA), following its sale in early 2020. Additional financial support was provided by the Swisslos-Fonds and various sponsors, bringing the total project cost to approximately 500,000 Swiss Francs. The land for the pumptrack was provided by the Municipality of Muri, which now owns and is responsible for the maintenance of the facility.
