Olds Park Skatepark

The Olds Park Skatepark, located in Penshurst, New South Wales, has been a central hub for local skaters since its original construction in the 1970s. The facility underwent significant upgrades, culminating in the opening of a modern recreational precinct on 17 February 2024.

Designed to cater to skaters of all skill levels, the park offers a variety of street-style obstacles and flow sections. The precinct includes three netball courts with both senior and junior goalposts, as well as two multi-use courts suitable for netball and basketball.

The redevelopment was funded by the NSW Government in association with Georges River Council under the Greater Cities Sport Facility Fund. The project aimed to create a state-of-the-art active recreation zone that meets best practices and ongoing community demand.

A notable feature of the skatepark is the "Knucker" Dragon Statue, crafted by artist Dillon MacEwan. This sculpture incorporates parts of skateboards, bicycles, and metal salvaged from the original 1970s skate park ramps, serving as a tribute to the park's rich history and its connection to contemporary skate and bike culture.
