The Porto do Son Skatepark, located in the coastal town of Porto do Son, A Coruña, was inaugurated on July 28, 2021. Developed as part of a broader initiative to enhance local sports infrastructure, the park was co-financed by the Xunta de Galicia and the local government, with a budget of €46,000. The Xunta contributed €25,000, while the remaining €20,900 was funded by the municipality.
The skatepark spans 480 square meters, utilizing concrete platforms to support both skateboarding and parkour activities. The project reflects Galicia’s investment in urban sports, aligning with the increased popularity of activities like skateboarding, now an Olympic sport. Designed with future expansion in mind, the Porto do Son Skatepark may see additional features or extensions as the community’s needs evolve.
