The Revelstoke Skatepark, located at 1100 Edward Street within Kovach Park in Revelstoke, British Columbia, is a 16,000-square-foot facility that stands as a premier alpine riding destination. This project was designed and built by New Line Skateparks and officially opened in October 2018. The park’s completion marked the end of a dedicated seven-year advocacy campaign by the Columbia Valley Skateboard Association (CVSA), which successfully replaced an aging asphalt pad with one of the most comprehensive concrete facilities in the province.
The design is a high-performance "multi-terrain" complex, engineered to offer a full spectrum of riding experiences against a dramatic mountain backdrop. It features a world-class transition zone, including a deep pool-style bowl with authentic concrete coping and a sprawling flow bowl with rhythmic hips and a "clamshell" extension. These features allow for high-speed, surf-inspired carving that local riders often compare to the sensation of snowboarding. The transition area is seamlessly connected to a modern street plaza that offers a dense array of technical obstacles, including granite-capped hubba ledges, flat rails, manual pads, and a signature four-stair set with a handrail.
Constructed using a specialized high-velocity "shotcrete" method, the park was built to withstand the extreme winter conditions and heavy snowfall characteristic of the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains. The layout prioritizes "infinite lines," where perimeter quarter pipes and an extended mini-ramp function as return walls, keeping riders in constant motion. The design also includes several inviting spectator zones and integrated social seating, positioned to offer clear sightlines of the action without encroaching on the riding surface. Today, the Revelstoke Skatepark is celebrated as a "mountain-modern" masterpiece, recognized for its exceptional build quality and its role as a vibrant community hub for youth and seasoned athletes alike.
