Maverick Skateparks
Rijswijk's skatepark, located at the intersection of Treubstraat and Sir Winston Churchillaan, is a medium-sized facility featuring a minipool and a diverse street course with various obstacles. The park includes several banked hips, a slappy curb, a manual pad with a bright red curb, and a Jersey barrier atop one of the banks. Despite the variety of elements, the park maintains a good flow.
The skatepark officially opened on April 14, 2023, following a participatory design process involving local youth. Initiated by teenager Dries van Dijk, who advocated for the park's development after the previous facility was removed, the project saw significant community involvement. Local skaters were invited to share their top five desired skate elements and vote on the final design, ensuring the park met their needs
