ABOUT SKATEPARK

Riverfront Skate & Wheels Park

The Riverfront Skate & Wheels Park in Spokane, Washington, is a major feature of the city's Riverfront Park redevelopment project, which began after a $64 million bond was approved by voters in 2014. This skatepark, part of the park's North Bank area, was designed by Grindline Skateparks in collaboration with Bernardo Wills Architects. It replaced the former "Under the Freeway" skatepark and features an 8,500 square-foot space designed for skateboarding, rollerblading, and BMX. Key features include two bowls, street elements, and a transitioned wall ride integrated into the design.

The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., making it accessible for skaters of all levels throughout the day. It also incorporates elements from the original Under the Freeway park, such as a flat bar, paying homage to Spokane's skateboarding history.
