Senago Skatepark, located in the Milanese suburb of Senago, Italy, is a recently constructed concrete skatepark covering about 1,400 square meters. It officially opened on July 8, 2023, after six months of construction by ICO Construction. The project was part of a regional initiative to revitalize outdoor spaces, funded by the Lombardy Region through the 2021 "Outdoor" public grant. This grant aimed to enhance areas for youth activities, allowing the Senago municipality to transform an old, unused asphalt basketball court into a modern skatepark.
The design of the skatepark was led by Daniele Lamanna, a skateboarder and designer, in collaboration with the local skater and organizer MaikP, along with the architectural oversight of Ettore Grandi. The skatepark was conceived with inclusivity in mind, featuring elements for traditional skateboarders, beginners, surf-skaters, longboarders, and even accessible features for wheelchair users.
The park includes a wide range of features, from gentle curves for beginners to a large concrete wave for surf-skating. This thoughtful design aims to cater to skaters of all abilities, encouraging a broad spectrum of wheeled sports enthusiasts to enjoy the facility. The skatepark has quickly become a popular hub in the community, serving as both a recreational space and a gathering point for local events.
