What an absolute beauty! Harmon Park has undergone a full make-over in the past few years. The playground is seriously impressive. The old skatepark….not so much. And that’s how this community-driven skatepark project started. It’s a way to honor the memory of Seth Keener and his love for skateboarding while providing the citizens of Decatur with epic concrete skatepark terrain. Skatepark users include skateboarders, inline skates, roller skates and bikes. The old metal prefabricated skatepark still currently exists on the other end of Harmon Park. Ideas are in the works for what other parks features to put in its place. The new and improved skatepark resides at the corner of N. Miller and E Ash St just two blocks from E Walnut St. in Downtown Decatur. There’s plenty of parking within Harmon Park, and by the way, there’s a nice convenient store 2 minutes (walking) away. Funding for the Decatur Texas skatepark came from a 2021 bond as well as a donation from the Keener family. The SPA Skateparks – New Line Skateparks design build skatepark team held a comprehensive series of in-person meetings to gather input on the overall design and skatepark terrain. SPA Skateparks’ skatepark construction craftsmen built the park in approximately two and a half months.

Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.
