The Standing Rock Skatepark in Fort Yates, North Dakota, is a standout project designed and built by Evergreen Skateparks. Completed in 2023, this skatepark features a unique peanut-shaped pool and a street track, which are designed to cater to a wide range of riding styles, from skateboarding to BMX. The park offers a compact yet exciting layout, with flowing transitions that enhance the experience for both novice and advanced users.
The skatepark was part of a broader effort to provide quality recreational spaces for the Standing Rock Sioux community. Funding for this park, like many others on Indigenous lands, came through a mix of local initiatives and significant contributions from outside sources, including support from professional skateboarders like Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam, who has been a long-time advocate for skateparks in Native American communities.
