Torroella de Montgrí Skateplaza, located in Girona, Spain, was designed by PMAM in collaboration with Skate Architects and opened in June 2019. The skatepark was part of a redevelopment project around the “Espai Ter” Public Theater, aiming to improve urban connectivity and revitalize the area. The plaza design integrates with the surrounding urban environment, using materials like granite ledges and pedestrian pavements to create a multifunctional public space.
Originally, the city planned to move the skatepark, but budget constraints led to renovating the existing facility. Despite a modest budget, the result is a modern skateplaza that blends skateboarding with public space, providing a recreational area that connects visually and physically to the theater and city center
