The Watkins Park Pumptrack, located in North Nashville, Tennessee, opened in 2021 and is the city’s first urban bike park. The pump track was a community-driven project, with key contributions from the Oasis Bike Workshop, SORBA Mid-TN, and funding from the Nashville Parks Foundation. The construction was handled by Pumptrax USA and Rock City Construction, transforming underutilized land in historic Watkins Park into a dynamic space for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.
This project, which took four years to bring to life, offers a safe and accessible environment for the community to ride bikes, build skills, and engage in healthy outdoor activities. The pump track has quickly become a popular gathering spot for local youth and adult riders alike. Events such as youth mountain bike team practices and community biking workshops are regularly held here, providing ongoing engagement and skill development opportunities for local residents.
The park’s location in North Nashville, a historically significant area, adds a layer of cultural importance to the project, as it serves as a recreational hub for a community with limited access to green spaces.
