Bodmin Skatepark, located in Priory Park, Cornwall, was officially opened in 2020. This modern facility was designed and built by Maverick Skateparks, a prominent company in the UK skatepark industry known for its expertise in creating high-quality concrete parks. The skatepark was part of a long-term project aimed at revitalizing the recreational space in Bodmin, with plans for additional facilities such as a multi-use games area and a sensory garden in the future.
The new skatepark features a mix of street and transition elements, catering to skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter users of all abilities. It includes bowls, quarter pipes, rails, and ledges, providing a dynamic and versatile environment for users. The design was developed in collaboration with local wheeled sports enthusiasts, ensuring the park met the needs of the community.
Funding for the skatepark came from Bodmin Town Council’s Section 106 contributions and a grant from Sport England. The total project cost was covered with these funds, which allowed the town to create a high-quality recreational facility that serves as a central hub for local youth and visitors. The skatepark has become a popular destination in Cornwall, attracting users from across the region due to its modern design and construction.
In addition to the skatepark, Bodmin Town Council has also announced plans to build a pump track nearby, further enhancing the area’s appeal to cyclists and riders of all ages.
