Chisholm Trail Skatepark

The City of Fort Worth’s first public skatepark is located just east of Chisholm Trail Parkway (Tollway) on McPherson Boulevard, nestled within the newly developed Chisholm Trail Park. Skaters and visitors will find ample parking available both within the park itself and at the nearby Chisholm Trail Recreation Center.

This design-build project began with a series of public input meetings, where local skaters played an active role in shaping the vision for the park—sharing ideas for terrain types, skate features, and thematic elements. In response, SPA Skateparks, in collaboration with New Line Skateparks, designed a dynamic space that includes a 6-foot, 7-foot, and 9-foot pool equipped with traditional pool coping, alongside multiple sections of plaza-style terrain.

A highlight of the park is the main plaza line, thoughtfully designed to accommodate continuous trick runs while paying homage to the historic Chisholm Trail. This feature symbolically reflects the journey of Texas ranchers who once drove cattle from South Texas to the Oklahoma border, and onward to the East Coast markets.

The result is a skatepark that not only meets the needs of Fort Worth’s skating community but also honors a rich piece of Texas history through design and function.
