ABOUT SKATEPARK

Ferndale Skatepark

Ferndale Skatepark, also known as Donald Red Geary Skatepark, is located in Ferndale, Michigan. It was designed and built by Evergreen Skateparks and officially opened in 2019. The park spans 18,000 square feet and features a variety of elements, including an open bowl, quarter pipes, ledges, flat rails, and a London gap. It is designed to accommodate all skill levels, offering areas for both beginners and advanced skaters.

The construction of the skatepark was made possible thanks to a $250,000 grant from the Tony Hawk Foundation, as part of their "Built to Play" initiative, in partnership with the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation. The project was strongly supported by the local community, including Ferndale's Parks & Recreation Department and local skate shops, making it a major hub for the city's skateboarding scene.
