Garden City Skatepark, located in Garden City, Michigan, was built in 2013 and designed by Spohn Ranch Skateparks. The park covers 4,500 square feet and was designed with a limited budget in mind. Despite these constraints, Spohn Ranch worked closely with local skateboarders to create a budget-conscious, functional park that maximized the city’s available funds while delivering an enjoyable space for skaters. The skatepark includes key features such as quarter pipes, ledges, rails, and stairs, making it suitable for skaters of all skill levels.
The park's construction faced some challenges, including inclement weather and the site’s location amidst large trees, which required careful planning. However, the build team completed the project on time, just before Thanksgiving, allowing the park to open for a grand celebration. The skatepark is free to use and operates daily from dawn until dusk, providing the community with a dedicated space for skateboarding, inline skating, and other activities.
Although modest in size and lacking extensive aesthetic elements, the park has been well-received by local skaters for its smooth flow and diverse features. It serves as a central recreational spot for skateboarders in Garden City, offering a variety of obstacles that allow for both casual riding and skill development.
