Gateway Discovery Park's Skate Spot, located in Northeast Portland at 10520 NE Halsey Street, is a 3,000-square-foot skateboarding area designed by Grindline Skateparks and built by Evergreen Skateparks. It opened in August 2018 as part of a larger community park project. The skate spot features a mix of street and transition elements, including bowls, rails, ledges, and stairs, making it suitable for skaters of various skill levels.
The park was funded as part of the Gateway Discovery Park project, which cost $10.2 million in total. This funding was provided by the Portland Development Commission (now Prosper Portland) and included contributions from community organizations like Harper's Playground, a nonprofit focused on building inclusive playgrounds.
