The Hansen Dam Skatepark in Los Angeles, California, was designed and built by SpohnRanch and opened in 2012. This 9,000-square-foot facility is located in the Hansen Dam Recreation Area, adjacent to Osborne Street. The skatepark blends street and transition skating elements, offering a 2,500 square-foot flow bowl with various pockets, cradles, and a mini-half feature, alongside street-inspired features such as banks, rails, and ledges. The park is designed in a loop format, with a concrete path surrounding a central landscaped area.
This project was part of the city's broader effort to expand recreational spaces, led by Los Angeles Recreation and Parks, and the skatepark was built on land leased from the US Army Corps of Engineers. The park includes colored concrete, granite-capped ledges, and brick-stamped banks, highlighting both aesthetic appeal and functionality. The project was funded through city resources, with a focus on providing a high-quality, free-to-use facility for skaters.
The park is open daily from dawn to dusk but does not have lighting for night use. Since its opening, the Hansen Dam Skatepark has become a popular spot for local skaters and BMX riders, thanks to its variety of features and spacious design.
