1301 S Railroad Street, Lewisville, Texas 75057, United States of America.
Lewisville Railroad Skatepark, part of the larger Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park, opened in October 2009. The park was developed as part of a $20 million project by Magee Architects and constructed by CORE Construction. Spanning 274 acres, this municipal complex includes not just the skatepark but also sports fields, a dog park, and recreational trails. It is the largest single capital project in the history of Lewisville and serves as a key community space for both recreational and competitive sports.
The skatepark itself is designed to accommodate skaters of all levels. It features a mix of bowls, plaza skating areas, and a variety of street obstacles such as handrails, pyramids, banked ramps, stairs, and vertical ramps. The park was built to provide a versatile skating environment, with enough variety to keep both beginners and advanced skaters engaged. The concrete surfaces and lighting systems ensure the park is usable well into the evening, enhancing the experience for skaters throughout the year.
The development of Railroad Park, including the skatepark, was funded by the City of Lewisville and represents a significant investment in community infrastructure. The park's design reflects the city's connection to its railroad history, with structures and theming echoing the nearby Katy Train Depot. This connection to local heritage adds cultural depth to the recreational space.
The park has remained a central part of Lewisville’s community offerings, hosting various events and attracting visitors from across the region. The addition of features like lakes for irrigation, walking trails, and shaded seating areas makes it more than just a skatepark; it's a comprehensive recreational area that serves a wide range of interests. The skatepark has been well received by the local skating community and continues to be a vital part of the city's outdoor offerings
