Renovated and officially inaugurated as a modernized sports space, the Mauro Sabino Skatepark is the heart of the local skate scene in Avellaneda. The park is often praised for its community-driven atmosphere and its recent "puesta en valor" (revitalization), which updated the surface and obstacles to meet modern standards. It serves as a frequent host for regional competitions, including the prestigious Juegos Bonaerenses.
The layout includes classic street elements such as flat bars, manual pads, and hubba ledges. The obstacles are built to a standard height, making it an excellent location for both learning the basics and mastering technical flip-in, flip-out tricks. The park is bookended by quarter pipes and banks.
Following its renovation, the park often features vibrant murals and street art, reflecting the local youth culture of Avellaneda. It is integrated into a larger recreational area that includes seating for spectators. The park is very local and welcoming. It is deeply tied to the memory of the local skate community, giving it a more personal feel than the larger commercial parks.
