Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

The McBride Skatepark, officially named McBride Skate Plaza, is located in Long Beach, California, and opened in 2012. The 11,000-square-foot street plaza-style park was designed and built by Spohn Ranch, a prominent skatepark design firm. This skatepark was a major milestone for the city, as it became the first public skatepark in modern times to be built in Long Beach.
Funding for the park was partially provided by the Tony Hawk Foundation (now the Skatepark Project), which helped raise $45,000 through its “Stand Up For Skateparks” event. The skatepark was designed to engage local youth, with many of them involved in the planning and fundraising processes. The city, local advocates, and the Action Sports Kids (ASK) Foundation collaborated to ensure the park would be a safe space for the community's youth, providing alternatives to gangs and drug use.
The park features a wide range of street elements, including stairs, handrails, hubbas, ledges, manual pads, and even a signature “LBC” bank ramp, which has become an iconic feature in Long Beach skate culture. The park's layout promotes smooth transitions between obstacles, making it ideal for skaters of all skill levels. Its design reflects an urban streetscape, encouraging skaters to experience different elements reminiscent of real street environments.
Since its grand opening, the skatepark has hosted various events, including its inaugural demo featuring professional skateboarders like Tony Hawk, Geoff Rowley, and Daewon Song. The park remains a vital recreational facility in Long Beach, providing a free, open-access space for skaters. Photos courtesy of SpohnRanch skateparks
