In the heart of San Francisco's vibrant Mission District, tucked away amidst the bustling streets and colorful murals, lies an urban oasis unlike any other – the Waller Street DIY Skatepark. Born out of a grassroots initiative by local skateboarders and community activists, this hidden gem has become a symbol of creativity, resilience, and the power of community collaboration. The project was funded by $130,000 from the Community Opportunity Fund of the 2012 Park Bond. The money was used to resurface the spot and to repair and add several obstacles in 2022.
