The Mondariz PumpTrack, located in Pontevedra, Galicia, is recognized as one of the most comprehensive pump tracks in the region. Opened in 2021 as part of a newly developed urban sports area, the pump track sits alongside a skatepark, calisthenics stations, a climbing wall, and a multi-sport court, creating a versatile space for various action sports. This sports hub spans over 1,115 square meters and is situated at the former football field of A Minada, repurposed to enhance community use and attract tourism.
Funded primarily through the Diputación de Pontevedra, this pump track and urban sports area represent a significant investment in local sports infrastructure. The regional government contributed over €500,000 through the ReacPon program and additional support from the Plan Concellos for ongoing improvements, totaling around €70,000. The design aims to facilitate a range of sports, including cycling, skating, and scootering, appealing to athletes of all ages and skill levels. Additionally, Mondariz’s pump track gained national attention by hosting events like the Copa de España de Pump Track, which has brought together top athletes and hundreds of spectators from across Spain, further boosting its reputation as a top-tier facility.
This track emphasizes sustainable urban development, with added green spaces, seating, and scenic viewpoints for spectators and families. The renovation not only encourages sports but also adds to the aesthetic and environmental appeal of Mondariz, aiming to make it a center for regional sports and tourism.
