The Mondariz Skatepark, located in Pontevedra, Galicia, is a newly developed urban sports facility, which opened recently as part of a larger sports complex. Built by GeoUrban, this skatepark was designed by Alex Durán, who crafted its unique layout to cater to skateboarders and other action sports enthusiasts. The park features a signature bowl in the shape of an "M" for Mondariz and includes elements like an innovative volcano obstacle in the form of a water droplet—a tribute to Mondariz’s association with mineral water.
Covering a total area of 1,115 square meters, the skatepark is part of a multi-functional sports zone that also includes a pump track, climbing wall, calisthenics equipment, and a multi-sport court. These installations were established with support from the Diputación de Pontevedra, which invested around €392,000 as part of the ReacPon program, supplemented by €112,000 through the local Plan Concellos for 2022-2023, and an additional €70,000 granted in September 2023 for continued improvements.
Mondariz’s sports complex is more than a skateboarding venue; it is an effort to enhance the town's recreational offerings and position Mondariz as a regional sports hub. The complex incorporates green spaces, seating areas, and a scenic viewpoint, blending recreational spaces with natural and aesthetic enhancements.
