The Sturgis Pump Track, located in Sturgis, South Dakota, is part of the larger Sturgis Bike Park and was constructed in 2018 by PumptraxUSA, a company known for building Olympic-caliber BMX and pump tracks. This facility includes two paved pump tracks: one designed for all ages and another specifically for younger riders. The park also features a "North-Shore" style skills park with wooden and dirt obstacles, including jumps, wall rides, and skinny lines, catering to a wide range of skill levels.
The pump track offers a dynamic riding experience where users can manoeuvre without pedalling, making it ideal for BMX riders, skaters, and scooter users alike. In 2019, the park expanded to include a paved jump park, further enhancing the riding experience with smooth transitions and jump features. This expansion was supported by community fundraising and additional city funding.
The Sturgis Pump Track hosts a variety of events, including community biking and skateboarding gatherings, and it plays a vital role in the city's outdoor recreational offerings. It remains a popular destination for both locals and visitors throughout the year.
